Biography
Reetta Kälvälä graduated with a Master of Science (Technology) from Aalto University in the fall of 2025. Her major was Biomedical Engineering, with a minor in Medical Physics from the University of Helsinki.
She completed her master’s thesis, entitled “Skull Attenuation Estimation for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound Using Zero Echo Time MRI,” at the Turku HIFU Research Centre, and has continued her work there as a Doctoral Researcher following her graduation. In addition to the zero echo time–based skull attenuation estimation research, she continues to work on feature selection and neural network prediction models for gynecological HIFU treatment outcome prediction.
With her background in tech, data science, and medical physics, Reetta provides data-analytical support across projects and publications at the Turku HIFU Research Centre.
